Baggage transport and insurance terms

1. General baggage rules
Carry-on and checked baggage allowances are set individually by each airline and depend on the fare purchased. Carry-on bags are typically limited to around 55×40×20 cm and 8–10 kg, and one checked bag to 20–23 kg.
With low-cost carriers (e.g. Wizz Air, Ryanair), the base fare often doesn't include checked baggage at all — it must be purchased separately at booking.
Exact allowances are always listed in the fare rules on the airline's website or with the agency issuing the ticket.
2. Prohibited and restricted items
Carrying dangerous goods in baggage (flammable substances, gas canisters, weapons and ammunition without a permit) is prohibited under international ICAO/IATA rules.
Liquids in carry-on baggage are generally limited to 100 ml per container. Check the current restrictions on your airline's website and with security at the departure airport.
3. Baggage insurance
Baggage insurance typically covers the risk of loss, damage or delay of baggage during transport. It can be arranged when buying your ticket, through the airline or agency, or separately through an insurer.
Decolare.md does not issue or sell insurance policies — we recommend checking the insurance terms directly with the airline, agency or insurer at the time of booking.
4. If your baggage is damaged, delayed or lost
Damage, delay or loss of baggage must be reported to the airline's Lost & Found desk directly at the arrival airport, before leaving the baggage claim area.
The compensation procedure and deadlines are set by the airline under applicable international rules (such as the Montreal Convention) — contact the carrier directly for details.
